Alecia Melissa Johnson, affectionately known as "ChuChu" to her loved ones, passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 37. Born on May 15, 1987, in St. Catherine, Jamaica, ChuChu was a vibrant soul whose laughter and love knew no bounds. She departed this world in Gainesville, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories.

ChuChu's early years in Jamaica were filled with the warmth of the Caribbean sun and the close-knit bond of her family. She was the beloved daughter of Joan Cameron and Anthony Johnson, who instilled in her the values of kindness, humility, and the importance of family. These principles became the cornerstones of ChuChu's life, guiding her through every adventure and challenge. She was the adored sister of Christine Graham, Gillian Reid-Sherman, and Jason Blake. The special bond ChuChu shared with her siblings was evident in the laughter that echoed during family gatherings and the support they provided each other through life's ups and downs. Her nieces and nephews, Tianya Smith, Nakayla Smith, Ashante Blake, Kingston, and Kameron Sherman,  her other siblings Melisa, TJ, and  Debra Johnson will forever remember their Aunt ChuChu as the fun-loving, goofy presence who could always turn a regular day into an extraordinary one.

ChuChu inherited her strength and grace from her grandmother, Ophlin Hemmings, whose legacy of resilience and love continues through her granddaughter's enduring spirit. Together, these remarkable women shaped a family culture that will be carried on for generations to come. A lover of the beach, ChuChu found solace in the rhythmic waves and the endless horizon. Her passion for travel took her to picturesque locales, where she embraced new cultures and experiences with open arms. Each journey was an opportunity for growth and the creation of unforgettable memories. ChuChu's zest for life was contagious.
