Anita Inez Pokorney, known simply as Anita, passed away on March 31, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 75.

Born on December 28, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia, Anita lived a life marked by strength, devotion, and deep love for her family. She carried herself with a spirit that was both independent and headstrong, and those who knew her best understood that she met life on her own terms while always remaining generous of heart. She was loving and giving, and she had a natural way of putting others before herself.

Family was the center of Anita’s world, and she found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved. She was most content when tending to her great-grandchildren, who were among the greatest joys in her life. Her presence brought comfort, warmth, and steadiness to her family, and she took great pride in being a constant source of love and support. She is survived by her children, Barry James Pokorney II and his wife, Melissa Martinique Pokorney, Aaron Shad Pokorney, Amber Pokorney Duong and her husband, Michael Duong. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Barry James Pokorney III, Caitlyn Morgan Pokorney, and Robert Taylor Pokorney, as well as her great-grandchildren, Samuel Parker Pokorney-Duong, Arthur Sullivan Duong, and Lemon Sol Nagel.

Anita also cherished the simple pleasures that made her smile. She loved her dog, Molly, and found delight in flamingos and a cold Diet Coke. These small joys reflected the colorful, affectionate spirit she carried throughout her life. Whether surrounded by family or enjoying a quiet moment with the things she loved, Anita appreciated life in a way that was both sincere and unmistakably her own.

In addition to her immediate family, Anita is survived by her cousin Robert Morgan, her nephew John Trigleth, and other beloved family members who will remember her with affection and gratitude. Her life was enriched by the many relationships she nurtured over the years, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
