Betty June Russell, known lovingly as Betty, passed away on August 9, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 74.

Born on September 29, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, Betty carried the warmth and strength of her Southern roots throughout her life. She was a woman of genuine kindness, a free spirit with a loving heart, and someone who made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Betty lived her life with grace, humor, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.

Betty found happiness in the beauty of the outdoors and especially cherished time spent in nature. She loved farm life and gardening, where she could nurture growing things and enjoy the peace that came from working with her hands. Traveling to the cabin in Tennessee was among her favorite escapes, and she treasured the quiet comfort and special memories created there. She also enjoyed fishing, a pastime that reflected her patience, calm spirit, and love of peaceful moments.

Her beloved dogs, Bella and Max, held a special place in her heart and were constant companions who brought her comfort and joy. Betty’s love for animals was just one more reflection of her gentle and affectionate nature. She was also a proud member of the Moose Lodge in Sanford, where she enjoyed the fellowship of friends and the many happy times shared in good company. Those who knew her there will remember her as friendly, welcoming, and full of life.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Angela Weatherholt and her husband Mitch, and Stephanie Bailey and her husband Ken. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Daniel, Christina, Scott, and John, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Haylee, Kyle, Mickayla, Briella, Tristen, Annaliese, Rylee, and Lily. Her family was a source of great pride and joy for her, and she loved them deeply.

Betty will be remembered for her kind heart, her easy smile, and the way she made others feel at ease in her presence. She had a loving spirit and a personality that could brighten any room. Her family and friends will forever hold close the memories of her laughter, her warmth, and the many ways she showed her love. Though she is no longer with us, the legacy of her love, her friendship, and her joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
