Carlos Angel Matos-Molina, affectionately known as Carlos, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on September 13, 1928, in the coastal town of Manatí, Puerto Rico, Carlos led a life marked by joy, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family.

Carlos's story began in Manatí, where he grew up imbued with the vibrant culture and warm spirit of his island home. His journey led him to the love of his life, Alida M. Bestard Sierra. Their union was one of true companionship and love, blossoming into a beautiful family with five children. Carlos was a devoted husband and father, a role he cherished above all else.

He is survived by three of his children, Iris M. Lowder Matos, José J. Matos Bestard, and Ada C. Matos Bestard, who will forever hold dear the lessons and love he imparted. Carlos was a proud grandfather to Carlos M. Meléndez Matos, Fernando E. Rivera Matos, Irishamir Moorehead Matos, Adliris M. Rivera Matos, Bethmarie Matos Vázquez, and Josean Matos Vásquez. His legacy extended to his great-grandchildren, Rylan Meléndez Matos, Adriana Moorehead, Delaney Moorehead, and Justin Kosinski, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Carlos's outgoing and humorous nature made him a beloved figure in his community. His laughter was infectious, and his ability to find humor in everyday situations was one of his most endearing qualities. He had the rare gift of making everyone around him feel at ease, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy to his family.

Carlos Matos Molina, was a beacon of light, warmth, and humor, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Carlos's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with us always.
