Carmen R. Santana Ruffatt fue llamada a casa para estar con nuestro Señor el 7 de abril de 2024, después de haber vivido una vida tan vibrante y enriquecedora como el sol tropical de su lugar de nacimiento en Humacao, Puerto Rico.

Nacida el 16 de julio de 1950, el viaje de Carmen comenzó en la isla encantada, donde las olas susurran historias de resiliencia y la brisa lleva el ritmo de la pasión. Llevaba la calidez de Puerto Rico en su corazón cuando más tarde echó raíces en Summerfield, Florida, donde continuó difundiendo su luz.

A Carmen, una querida esposa, una madre devota y una abuela cariñosa, le sobreviven su amado esposo, Julio Rivera, y sus hijos, Israel Viera Santana, Dianoris Viera Santana y Alidarlin Viera Santana. Su legado lo continúan sus adorados nietos, Darqin Viera, Cristian Polanco, Adonis Viera y Charlin Quiñones, quienes siempre la tendrán en sus corazones como una estrella guía.
  Hablemos de Carmen tal como era, una mujer de fe inquebrantable y de amor sin límites. Ella era un pilar de fuerza, una luchadora con un espíritu tan indomable como las montañas de su tierra natal. Su servicio a Dios fue un testimonio de su carácter, una vida vivida en devoción, moldeando su camino con manos de sierva, llena de gracia y compasión.

En momentos de soledad, Carmen encontró alegría en los placeres simples de la artesanía y la cocina, creando belleza y sustento con sus manos, así como creó una vida llena de amor por su familia y amigos. Sus recetas no eran sólo para el estómago sino para el alma, y su obra estaba tejida con los hilos de su amor y bondad.

Carmen era la encarnación del mensaje de amor de un predicador sureño: amorosa, amable y trabajadora. Ella alimentó a su familia y a su comunidad, su amor era tan abundante como la cosecha después de una lluvia de verano. Su risa era una melodía que resonaba en los corazones de quienes la conocían, y su sonrisa era una luz que podía eclipsar incluso la más oscura de las tormentas.

Al despedirnos de Carmen Santana Ruffatt, llevemos su memoria con la misma dignidad y gracia con la que vivió su vida. Aunque su presencia física nos ha dejado, su espíritu perdura en las lecciones que impartió y en el amor que tan libremente nos dio. Nos regocijamos al saber que ella ahora descansa en paz eterna, acunada en los brazos de nuestro Padre Celestial.

 Carmen R. Santana Ruffatt was called home to be with our Lord on the 7th of April, 2024, having lived a life as vibrant and nurturing as the tropical sun of her birthplace in Humacao, Puerto Rico.

Born on the 16th of July, 1950, Carmen's journey began on the enchanted island, where the waves whisper tales of resilience and the breeze carries the rhythm of passion. She carried the warmth of Puerto Rico in her heart when she later laid roots in Summerfield, Florida, where she continued to spread her light.

Carmen, a cherished wife, a devoted mother, and a doting grandmother, is survived by her loving husband, Julio Rivera, and her children, Israel Viera Santana, Dianoris Viera Santana, and Alidarlin Viera Santana. Her legacy is further carried on by her adored grandchildren, Darqin Viera, Cristian Polanco, Adonis Viera, and Charlin Quiñones, who will forever hold her in their hearts as a guiding star.
 Let us speak of Carmen as she was, a woman of unwavering faith and boundless love. She was a pillar of strength, a fighter with a spirit as indomitable as the mountains of her homeland. Her service to God was a testament to her character, a life lived in devotion, shaping her path with the hands of a servant, filled with grace and compassion.
