Carter Lawrence Lavalle, known affectionately as Carter by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Ocala, Florida. Born on July 5, 1969, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Carter grew up under the warm sun and near the shimmering waters that would shape his lifelong love for fishing. Carter is survived by his adoring mother, Mary Lavalle of Boca Raton, and his loving sisters, Julie Cameron (married to Ron) of Atlanta, and Maria Lavalle of Boca Raton. He was a cherished uncle to his nieces, Sarah Kern of Greenville, South Carolina, and Carter Kern of Atlanta, Georgia, who share fond memories of their uncle's kind heart and gentle spirit.
Carter's professional life was spent as a skilled woodworker at American Staircase in Palm City. His colleagues at American Staircase will remember him not only for his work ethic but for the camaraderie and warmth he brought to the workplace every day.
Beyond his work, Carter's passions painted the picture of a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid fisherman, he spent countless hours by the water, reveling in the quiet battle between man and nature. His love for dancing was infectious, and he could often be found leading a partner across the dance floor with a smile that lit up the room. Carter's kindness extended beyond his human connections to encompass all living creatures.
A devoted animal lover, he opened his heart and home to many cats and dogs over the years, each one rescued and given a second chance at life thanks to his boundless compassion. Those who knew Carter will remember him as the epitome of a kind and laid-back individual. His willingness to lend a helping hand was unmatched, and his presence brought a sense of calm and comfort to any situation. He navigated life's ups and downs with an unwavering grace and a quiet resilience that inspired everyone around him.
Carter's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the gentle touch of a life well-lived. As we say goodbye to a man who was a son, brother, uncle, and friend, we take solace in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and illuminate the lives of those he touched. Carter Lawrence Lavalle's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared, the work he left behind, and the quiet moments by the water where the fish are biting, and the dance floor where the music plays on.
