Cecil Eppes Shine III Obituary
Cecil Eppes Shine III, known to family and friends as Cecil, passed away on September 6, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 77.
He was born on November 11, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida, and carried the values of his upbringing throughout his life. Cecil was a man who appreciated the simple, enduring gifts of life, and he found great contentment in the outdoors, where he felt most at home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods, pursuits that brought him peace, reflection, and a deep connection to the natural world.
He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Rosenfield of Shreveport, Louisiana, Marilyn Smith of Aiken, South Carolina, and Ellen Shine of Monticello, Florida, his son, Trevor Shine of Ocala, Florida, as well as granddaughters Bella and Lilly Shine and great grandson Liam Schmidt.. He was preceded in death by his son, Cecil Shine IV. He also leaves behind multiple cousins, and best friend of over 50 years Sonny Roberts each of whom holds their own memories of his life and the time they shared with him.
Cecil’s life was marked by the moments he spent outdoors and the relationships he cherished along the way. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply walking in the woods, he found joy in the quiet beauty of creation and was happiest when he was exploring the woods. These were the times that reflected his spirit most clearly, and they remain a lasting part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Cecil Eppes Shine III will be remembered with love, respect, and gratitude for the life he lived. His journey began in Jacksonville and ended in Ocala, but the story of his life will remain with his family and friends for many years to come. May he rest in peace.
