Charles William Barrack Sr., known affectionately as Charlie, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. Born on June 21, 1932, in Beacon, New York, Charlie lived a life marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and commitment to his community.

 Charles and Barbara, his wife of 50 years are survived by three children. He was a cherished father to Lynette Barrack Harmon, Felicia Barrack, and Charles W. Barrack Jr. and his loving wife of 15 years Judi Barrack. His legacy extends through his grandchildren, Joseph Basto and wife Jill, Jeffrey Barrack and wife Catherine, and Mario Guerra, as well as his great-grandchildren, Troy Basto, Barbara Haidyn Basto, Samantha Barrack, Kaitlyn Guerra, Michael Guerra, and Amanda Ramon. His great-great-grandchildren, Ava Ramon and Ameilia Ramon, will also hold dear the memories of this beloved man. Charlie's sister Rosalie and brother William will remember him as a guiding light within their family.

Charlie's educational pursuits laid a strong foundation for his successful career as a Manager in Insurance sales, from which he eventually retired. His professional achievements, however, were matched by his dedication to his country. A proud veteran of the Korean War, Charlie served for 8 1/2 years with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps. His love for his country was only rivaled by his love for the Lord and his unwavering desire to serve others in his community.

Since his marriage to Judi, Charlie was a faithful member of Christ the King Anglican Church in Ocala where he served as a Stephen Minister, participated in an Anglican 4th Day retreat and served on staff for a follow up retreat, and was well-known for starting the Helping Hands ministry, which provided home repairs to those in need at little or no cost. His commitment to education and history led him to become a lecturer on the Korean War, sharing his experiences and knowledge with local schools and youth group. He also created an Italian feast for over 100 diners as a fundraiser for Christ the King Anglican building fund.

Charlie's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. An avid golfer, he was often found on the green, enjoying the game he loved. His heritage was a source of pride, and he expressed this through his love for cooking Italian and Lebanese dishes. Skilled with his hands, Charlie was not only an excellent cabinet maker but also crafted numerous sets of golf clubs and delighted in making wooden toys for children.

Those who knew Charlie understood the depth of his character. He was a proud yet humble man, steadfast in his friendships. To be counted as Charlie's friend was to know a loyalty that was unwavering. He embodied the values of the Marines in every aspect of his life, always faithful, always "Semper Fi."

Charlie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him. Yet, his spirit, characterized by strength, compassion, and integrity, will continue to inspire and guide us. He leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished and a legacy of love that will endure through the lives he touched. In honoring Charlie's memory, we reflect on the words of the Marines' Hymn, "From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli," and are reminded that, like the Marines he so proudly served with, Charlie's honor, courage, and commitment will remain eternal.

Charlie's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received during this time. They find comfort in knowing that Charlie is at peace and that his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he loved and served.
