David Allen Duff Obituary
David Allen Duff, a cherished soul and remarkable artist, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, in Ocala, Florida. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 20, 1948, to Walter and Jean Duff, David's life journey was one of passion, creativity, and generosity. He was a beacon of light and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him through his 77 years.
David, affectionately known as Dave to his friends and family, was a man of many talents and virtues. His dedication to his craft as a stained-glass artist was evident in the beauty of his work. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in business from Eastern Kentucky University, David traveled to Europe to study the intricate art of stained glass. His passion and skill led him to establish Classical Glass, which quickly became one of the most recognized stained-glass businesses in the country.
Beyond his artistic achievements, David's love for golf was well-known among his peers. He found joy and tranquility on the greens, a place where he often shared his patient nature and gentle spirit with fellow players. His presence on the course was as serene as his demeanor, and his love for the game was as clear as the vibrant pieces of glass he so lovingly crafted.
David's kindness extended beyond his human acquaintances; he had a profound love for animals, especially dogs. Many canines found a forever home with David, where they were showered with love and care. His compassionate actions reflected the words of Mahatma Gandhi: "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." David truly embodied this sentiment, caring deeply for the welfare of all creatures great and small.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Whaley Duff; his daughter Ashley Thomas (Mike) and son Christopher Duff (Melissa); his brothers Thomas (Sheila) and Stephen (Marilyn) Duff; his sister Susan Unice (Mark); and his granddaughters Ava Votapek and Audrey Duff. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents and his grandson, Jackson Duff.
David's departure has created a void in the lives of those who loved him. Yet, his memory will endure, immortalized by the colorful light that filters through his stained glass creations and the love he shared with others. His legacy is a testament to a life well-lived, full of purpose, artistry, and compassion. We take solace in knowing that David's spirit will continue to illuminate the world as brilliantly as the masterpieces he left behind.
