David Andrew Cook, passed away on May 1, 2025, at the age of 63, in Citra, Florida. Born on May 1, 1962, in Wyandotte, Michigan, David's journey through life was one marked by joy, creativity, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him.

David's early years in Michigan laid the foundation for a life rich in love and laughter. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, traits that he carried with him throughout his life. David's mother, Dianne Dotson, and his father, Robert Cook, instilled in him the values of kindness and hard work, which he embraced wholeheartedly. Though they, along with his brother Michael Dotson, preceded him in death, the legacy of their tight-knit family lived on through David's actions and the memories they shared.

David's passion for mechanics became apparent early on, and he turned that passion into a fulfilling career. As a talented mechanic, he was well-known for his ability to breathe new life into anything with an engine. His knack for repairs and his willingness to lend a hand made him a cherished figure in his community. David's professional life was characterized by the joy he found in solving problems and the friendships he forged through his work.

Beyond his professional endeavors, David was a man of many interests. His love for tinkering with small engines and model cars was more than a hobby; it was a way of connecting with others who shared his fascination. The beach was his sanctuary, a place where he found peace and inspiration, and where he spent many happy days basking in the sun and the company of loved ones. He was an athlete and loved baseball. He instilled in his son Ryan his talent for the sport through coaching his team.

David's life was enriched by the love and companionship of his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Ryan Greenwood, and daughter-in-law, Denise, who will remember him as a guiding light and a source of unwavering support. His sister, Kimberly Dotson, and her husband, Thom Seeley, will cherish the bond they shared and the laughter that often filled the room when David was present. His granddaughter, Rebecca Stevens, will carry forward the lessons and love he imparted upon her. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special mention must be made of his best friend, Jane Dinitto, who stood by him in times of joy and sorrow. Their friendship was a testament to the beauty of human connection, and her presence in his life was a source of immense happiness.
