Dawn Mary Thompson Obituary
Dawn Mary Thompson, known affectionately as Dawn to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Reddick, Florida. Born on June 3, 1939, on a dairy farm in Bordentown, New Jersey, Dawn's radiant personality and loving nature shone brightly throughout her 86 years of life.
Dawn's journey began as the cherished daughter of her Bordentown community, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of close-knit family ties. Her life was a testament to love, devotion, and faith, qualities that she nurtured and shared generously with all who had the pleasure of crossing her path.
Embarking on a lifelong partnership, Dawn married James A. Thompson, with whom she built a family rooted in compassion and kindness. Together, they welcomed their children into the world, but sadly, Dawn was predeceased by her beloved husband, her children Robin Wade Thompson, Barbara Crews, Karen Lehman, and her grandson Anthony Baccila II. Nonetheless, her legacy continues through her surviving children, James Clinton Thompson and his wife Sherry, and Tamie Baccili. Dawn's memory will also be cherished by her treasured grandchildren Tiffany, Heather, Joseph, Richard, Sabrina, Tabitha, Laura, and Robin Ann. Her ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren will grow up hearing stories of her loving spirit and gentle heart.
Dawn's siblings, John Lakatis and Alisa Hordeman, will remember her as the sister who always led with her heart, offering words of encouragement and support. Her family was her pride and joy, and she embraced every moment she had with them, always ensuring that they felt her unconditional love.
As a Pastor's wife and Sunday School Teacher, Dawn's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She devoted her life to her church community, where she was a beacon of hope and a shoulder to lean on for many. Her love for attending church was only matched by her passion for teaching and guiding others on their spiritual journeys.
Beyond her church involvement, Dawn was a talented seamstress, often found creating beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Her dinner table was a place of laughter, storytelling, and the sharing of her sumptuous meals, which she prepared with love and care. Those who knew Dawn will fondly remember her sweet, bubbly personality, and the kindness and generosity she extended to everyone.
Dawn's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and family. Her legacy is one of selfless giving and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the immeasurable impact she had on the lives she touched. Dawn Mary Thompson will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us for generations to come.
