Dolores D Bounds Obituary
Dolores Diane Bounds, affectionately known as DeeDee to her friends and family, was born on October 18, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout her 60 years on this earth, DeeDee embraced the world despite the many challenges life threw her way. Her journey on this earth came to a peaceful end on March 22, 2024, in Ocala, Florida, where she passed away due to complications from her most recent ailment, COPD. DeeDee's life story is a testament to the power of perseverance and faith. As a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt, she navigated through life's storms with a steadfast heart. Left behind to cherish her memory is her beloved son, Manual Garcia; her precious grandchildren, Oceana, Willow and Manual Jr. (Bubba); and her devoted siblings, Patty, Pearl, Rose, and Robert. Though her daughter, Sabrina Garcia, preceded her in death, the bond of love they shared remains unbroken in eternity. Back in the day, DeeDee baked the best zucchini bread and homemade apple pie, leaving our tummies full of delight, always wanting more. Prior to getting neuropathy in her hands a few years ago, DeeDee loved to crochet, just like her dad. Her gifts brought warmth and love to all those who received them. Despite her physical disadvantages in the last few years, her wit prevailed in each game of Acey-Deucey (Backgammon), as she masterminded a win almost every time. DeeDee's journey through life was marked by her determination to reclaim a life of dignity and respect, despite the myriad of challenges that confronted her. She strived to get through her days hanging on to her belief that her faith would sustain her, especially in her darkest moments. Although DeeDee's legacy is not one of material possessions or worldly achievements, it certainly was one of perseverance and courage. Her story should encourage us to face our own daily battles with bravery, using faith to get through our darkest nights, as we strive to love without reservation, as DeeDee did. As we bid farewell to DeeDee, let us honor her memory by emulating her strength, her faith, and her courage. May DeeDee's spirit, like her crochet creations, continue to provide comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her. Let us carry forward her legacy, and in doing so, may we too live lives marked by courage, faith, and love. Let us remember her story does not end with her passing but continues in the lives of those she knew, in the laughter of her grandchildren, and in the love that she so freely shared with her siblings. DeeDee was a fighter, a believer in the power of redemption, and a living example of God's grace in action. Her life was not without its hardships, but she learned to face each one with an unwavering faith that God was in control. As we commit her spirit to the Lord, we hold fast to the promise of the resurrection, knowing that in Christ, death is not the end but the beginning of an eternal life of joy and peace. And so, we say not goodbye, but rather, until we meet again in the presence of our Heavenly Father, where every tear shall be wiped away, and the trials of this world will fade into a distant memory. May the grace of God, the love of Jesus, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dolores Diane "DeeDee" Bounds, a servant of the Lord, who ultimately yielded a life of love, courage, and faith through His Grace.
