She was the beloved wife of Rick Young for 53 years, with whom she shared a life full of joy and companionship. Together, they raised their daughter Brandi Gavin, married to Dennis, and reveled in the growth of their family, including three cherished grandchildren, Nick, Evan, and Cassidy Gavin. Dottie's love extended to her sister Cathy and husband Larry Robey, and she held a special place in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who became family over the years. While she was preceded in death by her parents, Hub and Nancy Rasnake, sister Phyllis Doyle, and mother and father-in-law Edna and Nelson Young, her spirit of kindness and compassion remains a lasting legacy.
Professionally, Dottie was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse in Maryland, a career spanning over 47 years. Her commitment to the well-being of her patients was evident in the gentle care she provided and the lasting relationships she built with colleagues and those she served.
