Edward Arnold Murray, 69,of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at Flagler Hospital. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Edward was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where he built a life marked by service, faith, humor, and compassion.

A proud graduate of Trinity Christian Academy, Class of 1974, Edward went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Addiction, and Counseling from the University of Phoenix. His life journey was as diverse as it was inspiring. He discovered a passion for cooking and used his talents as a personal chef to racing legends Dale Earnhardt and Harry Gant, and later brought his culinary skills to Montana’s Steakhouse and Saloon in Hickory, North Carolina.

Edward was widely known for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and what he proudly called his “PhD in sarcasm.” A natural entertainer and the heart of any room, he never missed an opportunity to share a joke, lighten a mood, or offer a clever quip.

Beyond laughter, Edward had a deep and enduring faith. He devoted time to the study of God’s word and led online Bible studies to share the teachings of scripture. In his youth, he was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and remained spiritually engaged throughout his life.

His generous spirit extended to his community through volunteer work with the American Red Cross in St. Johns County, where he gave his time to help those in need.

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Murray; children, Shannon Franco, Kyle Murray and Kristan Witherill; siblings, Debbie Bowers (Larry) Paul Murray (Cindy), Mack Murray, Jr. (Kristi) and Melea Murray, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
