Emirba Velez Lugo Obituary
Emirba Velez Lugo, lovingly known as Nany, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 62.
Born on November 28, 1963, in the Bronx, New York, she lived a life marked by devotion, strength, and compassion. Nany carried with her the spirit of the city where she was born, but it was her warmth, honesty, and deep love for her family that truly defined her. She was a woman who spoke her mind with sincerity, yet always with a sweetness that reflected the kindness in her heart. Those who knew her will remember her as direct but gentle, strong but caring, and always guided by love.
Nany’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she found happiness in the simple, meaningful moments they shared together. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always placed her family above herself. Her love was steady and unconditional, and she gave of herself freely in ways that will be remembered for years to come. She is survived by her children, Sherly, Keisha, and Stacey, as well as her grandchildren, Shanelys, Kalena, Lunasi, Jenziel, Luniel, and Juelz. She is also survived by her sister, Tayma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emirba and Wilfrido, whose memory remained close to her heart throughout her life. The bond she shared with her family was one of her greatest treasures, and she carried that connection with her in all she did. Her life was a reflection of loyalty, resilience, and selflessness, and she touched the lives of many through the love she gave so generously.
Nany also enjoyed the comfort of music and the nostalgia of classic films. She loved listening to music and watching movies from the 80s and 90s, finding joy in the songs and stories that brought back cherished memories and created new ones. These simple pleasures were part of the life she embraced so fully, and they brought her peace and happiness. Whether she was surrounded by family or enjoying a quiet moment, she had a way of making those around her feel at ease.
Her big heart was one of her most defining qualities. She was selfless in the way she cared for others, always ready to give, help, and love without hesitation. Her presence brought comfort, her words carried honesty, and her actions reflected a life lived with purpose. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, sister, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Though her passing leaves a deep void, Emirba Velz Lugo’s memory will remain forever in the hearts of her loved ones. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of family, the strength of a loving heart, and the lasting impact of a woman who gave so much of herself to others. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
