Frederick "Rusty" Ellis, 67, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on November 20, 2023, in Lecanto, FL. Rusty was born on December 7, 1955. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Rusty was a kind, likable, and friendly man. He had a warm smile and a gentle demeanor that endeared him to everyone he met. As a father, he was devoted and loving, always putting his children's needs first. Rusty cherished his role as a husband and took great joy in building a life together with his wife, Joanne Thorn-Ellis.
Rusty had a zest for life and enjoyed exploring the world. He loved traveling, skydiving, fishing, and cooking. Rusty was also a passionate football fan, always rooting for his favorite team, the Miami Hurricanes.
Professionally, Rusty had a successful career as a Heath Physics Technician for nuclear power plants. His dedication and expertise earned him the respect of his colleagues and made a lasting impact in his field.
Rusty will be deeply missed by his daughter, Holly Ellis, his son, Trevor Ellis, his wife, Joanne Thorn-Ellis, and his brother, John Ellis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha, and his father, William.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Ocala Funeral and Cremation Care in Ocala, FL. The family will gather to honor Rusty's life and share memories of their time together.
