Gandalal J Patel, affectionately known as Gandalal, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 85. Born on January 20, 1939, in Junagadh, India, he lived a life marked by deep spiritual commitment, boundless love for his family, and a joyous engagement with his community.

"Gandalal's journey took him far from his birthplace in Junagadh to the shores of America, but he carried the essence of his homeland within him through his unwavering faith and devotion. As a dedicated devotee to the Swaminarayan Satsang, he served the Sants devoutly, and spread the teachings of the Swaminarayan faith. He engaged the community in becoming subscribers of the Ghanshyam Vijay. His life was a testament to his enduring belief in the power of service and spirituality.”

He was the beloved patriarch of a large and close-knit family, survived by his devoted wife Sharda, and their children: Rekha and her husband Viral, Bhavna, Smita and her husband Ashwin, Ashwin and his wife Rakhsha, and Sanjay and his wife Bhavini. Gandalal was a cherished grandfather to Soniya and her fiancée Samir, Priya, Victoria, Yash and his fiancée Amanda, Krish, Aakash, Anjali, Rajvee, and Janvee. Each of his grandchildren brought him immense pride and joy, and he imparted to them the values of love, faith, and family unity. Gandalal's life was a reflection of his deeply held religious beliefs.

He found peace and purpose in reading scriptures, engaging in prayer, and meditating. His voice, often lifted in the singing of religious hymns, was a source of comfort and inspiration to those around him. His love for travel allowed him to explore the world, yet he always remained anchored to his spiritual roots. To know Gandalal was to experience his warmth and generosity of spirit. He was an active member of the community, known for his jovial nature, empathy, and humility.

His kindness touched the lives of many, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life was one of his most remarkable traits. Gandalal's legacy is one of unwavering kindness, boundless spirituality, and a profound commitment to his loved ones. As we remember him, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that, though departed, continues to guide and inspire us through the lessons he imparted and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
