Gene Brown, age 80, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Friday, March 6th, 2026.

Gene was born in Detroit, Michigan, son of Frank and Mary Brown. Father Frank was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, and the family lived all over the U.S., Japan and Germany. Gene settled in California, married and had 4 stepchildren and 1 daughter Jennifer, born in Simi Valley, CA. He was a top salesperson for Core-Mark in Los Angeles.

In 1999, Gene relocated to Orlando, Florida, became a Realtor and married Kathryn. They retired and moved to Ocala, Florida in 2019. Gene was an avid movie watcher and collector. Music, Epcot, going on cruises, snow skiing, dogs, computers and building were some passions. He was always working on projects around the house. Gene was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Gene is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathy, his daughter Jennifer, stepchildren Jerry, Jackie, David, Deanna and Shane, brother Darrell and sister Nancy. His little brother, Dale (Chuck) Brown of Orlando, FL, also recently passed. They are greatly missed.
