Gurney Ithama Williams, known lovingly to family and friends as Gurney, passed away on July 12, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 84.


Born on November 30, 1941, in St. Andrew, Jamaica, Gurney carried with her throughout her life the warmth, strength, and grace of her island upbringing. She brought those qualities into every chapter of her life, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a woman of quiet dignity, gentle spirit, and deep devotion to the people she loved. Her life was marked by kindness, patience, and a sincere desire to care for others in ways both large and small.


Gurney was happiest when she was caring for her family. She devoted herself to those she loved and found great purpose in being a caregiver. Her nurturing nature was one of her greatest gifts, and she offered comfort, support, and encouragement to those around her throughout her life. She was soft, gentle, and loved to have fun, and her presence brought a sense of peace and warmth to every gathering. She is survived by her children, Aaron, Julie, McNeil, Terry, Champy, and Luke, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, all of whom were blessed by her love and presence. Her longtime friend Debbie also mourns her passing and holds dear the many memories they shared over the years.


Her family and friends will remember Gurney for her unwavering love, her gentle nature, and the comfort she gave so freely. She was a woman who gave much of herself to others and did so with humility and grace.
