Jocelyne T. Lanctot, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 82. Born on January 28, 1941, in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada, Jocelyne was a radiant presence who filled the lives of those around her with joy and kindness. Jocelyne's journey through life was marked by her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She was married to the late Alphonse Lanctot for 38 years, and together they raised a bustling, vibrant family. Her legacy lives on through her children: Roger P. Lanctot and his wife Donna of New Boston, NH; Ron Lanctot of Chesapeake, VA; Rosemarie L. Prince of Belleview, FL; Sylvain Gatineau of Ocala, FL; Robert D. Lanctot and his wife Karin Bauer-Lanctot of Langenbrettach, Germany; Daniel Gatineau of Ocala, FL; Rex Lanctot and his wife Joy of Ocala, FL; Michael Lanctot of Ocala, FL; and Steve Lanctot of Ocala, FL. She was preceded in death by her sons Richard Lanctot of Anchorage, AK and Roland H. Lanctot of Ocala, FL. Jocelyne was also a cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable Happiness.
Professionally, Jocelyne was known for her time at Subway, where she served the community with a bright smile and a kind word for everyone. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she and her husband sold peanuts at various events, a venture that brought them closer together and allowed them to meet a multitude of people from all walks of life.
Jocelyne's interests and talents were as diverse as they were captivating. In her early years, she enjoyed dancing with Alphonse, whether it was on ice, roller skates, or a traditional dance floor. Her love for music extended beyond the dance; she had a beautiful singing voice and played the piano with grace and passion. A fierce competitor at heart, Jocelyne loved to engage in board games with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Her laughter and cheerful spirit made every game night an unforgettable experience. She was also a devoted pet owner, treating her pets with the same love and kindness she showed to her family and friends.
Those who knew Jocelyne would describe her as loving and kind, two words that perfectly encapsulate the essence of her being. She approached life with a warm heart and an open mind, always ready to offer support or a listening ear to those in need. Jocelyne's impact on the world was profound and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
