John J. Gorman Jr., a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2023, in Ocala, Florida. Born on February 24, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, John lived a life full of adventure, love, and service. 
 
John is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Christine; his daughter, Michelle (Bryan); son, Mark C. Gorman; and grandchildren, Marley and Reid. He was a loving and supportive figure in their lives, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and ambitions. 
 
After serving his country in the US Army, John embarked on a successful career as a diesel mechanic. He retired from the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), where he was well-regarded by his colleagues for his hard work, dedication, and expertise. John's commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for helping others, as he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. 
 
John's adventurous spirit led him and his wife Christine on many exciting journeys throughout the United States. Together, they explored the country in their RV, creating lasting memories and forging strong bonds with fellow travelers. These experiences brought great joy to John and Christine, as they shared their love of discovery and the open road. 
 
An avid gardener, John took great pride in cultivating a beautiful and bountiful garden each year. He had a green thumb and a natural talent for nurturing plants, which brought color and life to his home. John's gardening skills were matched by his abilities as a handyman, as he was known to tackle a wide variety of home improvement projects with skill and precision. Friends and neighbors often sought his advice and assistance on matters related to home repair, knowing they could rely on John's expertise. 
 
John's loving, adventurous, and handy nature endeared him to all who knew him. He had a warm and engaging personality, making friends easily and maintaining close relationships throughout his life. John's generosity and kindness will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
