Lorraine Bergeron Obituary
Lorraine Theresa Bergeron December 27, 1932 – March 31, 2023
Lorraine Bergeron was born in Manchester, New Hampshire to Emile Bergeron and Zelia LaRouche
Bergeron in 1932 to parents who emigrated from Canada. The youngest of six children, she resided
most of her life in Lowell and Dracut Massachusetts. Lorraine was predeceased by brothers Leo, Gerry
and Norman and sisters Lauretta and Bernie.
Lorraine moved to Florida in 2020 to join her two retired children living in Ocala. She is survived by son
Dennis Bergeron and wife Natalie and daughter Dale Howard and husband Ben (Ocala residents), and
son Ted and wife Linda Vitiello of Scituate, MA.
Growing up in a musical family, Lorraine played guitar, piano, and bass. Her most memorable talent was
her ability to yodel. If asked on a good day, she could yodel still.
One of the highlights of Lorraine’s life was her service to others. Many still speak of her contributions at
CTI (Community Teamwork Inc.) where she volunteered as a driver and companion in Lowell to many
elderly residents needing transportation to medical appointments. Her proudest moment was receiving
a special commendation for 20 years of service as a senior volunteer by former Massachusetts Governor
Jane Swift.
In addition to her three children, she leaves behind grandchildren that she adored. Michael and Tanya
Bergeron and family of Dracut, Candace (Howard) and Quinn Lawrence and family of Lowell, Ryan and
Holly Howard and family of Lowell, Kelly (Bergeron) and Chris Wilson and family of Lexington, SC, Chase
and Tiffany Howard of Dracut, and Liam and Kate Howard-Strem of Leominster. Her legacy continues
through her beloved great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
From toiling in shoe and textile mills to working in the computer industry, Lorraine lived a full life. She
made new friends at every stop along the journey, including here in Ocala at Bridgewater Park where
she spent her final years. Her ready quips and radiant smile made her a favorite among many there.
Lorraine will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. She was one-of-a-kind. The very best kind.
