Mabel Ruth Clements Sawyer, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, at the age of 82, in Ocala, Florida. Mabel was born on October 27, 1941, in Anthony, Florida, to the late Ina R. Clements and Wilson Clements Sr. Known for her bright spirit and loving nature, she was a beacon of joy to all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Forest High School, Mabel excelled in her studies and was a talented majorette. Mabel's heart found its match in Burchell Sawyer, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Though she faced the profound sorrow of losing her beloved husband and her dear sons, Robert and Stephen Sawyer, Mabel's resilience and strength were an inspiration to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication through her children, Connie Moffitt, Ina Archer, Roberta Mobley, Diane Holmes, and Ricky Sawyer. Mabel was a cherished sister to Barbara Jones and brothers Wilson Jr. and Danny Clements. Her seventeen grandchildren, who adored her, will carry forward the countless memories of their grandmother's affection and wisdom.

Mabel's love for her family was matched only by her love for her dog, Buddy. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where the laughter of her grandchildren filled the rooms and the pitter-patter of Buddy's paws was a constant comfort. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Mabel Ruth Clements Sawyer will forever be in the hearts of those she touched with her unwavering love and her boundless joy for life. Her spirit, carried on in the stories and smiles of her family, will continue to guide and inspire for generations to come. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at a later date.
