Marilyn Ann Wolfersburger Cowl, 89, lately of Ocala, Florida, passed away on July 6 th , 2026,
joining her husband Gorham A. Cowl, who died in 2019. Born and raised in New Jersey, Marilyn
spent a large portion of her retired life calling Tucson, AZ home, but also spent many years prior
residing in such places as West Bloomfield, MI and Lancaster, PA, as well as internationally in
both Belgium and England.
Valentines Day in 1937 was an exciting one for William Hippoltye and Anna Wolfersburger.
They were a day away from welcoming their daughter Marilyn, who would, beginning at the age
of 22, embark on a life full of adventure, family, friendships, and wonder alongside her best
friend and husband of 59+ years, Gorham Allen Cowl. Over the course of their love story,
Marilyn and Gorham shared their unshakable love of world travel with their family and friends,
forming innumerable cherished memories, and all the while, never stopped dating each other.
They lived a life characterized by shared experiences, unconditional love, deep curiosity, good
food, and great golf courses. Though they were consistently invested in discovering as many of
the world nooks and crannies that they could, hand in hand, one of their greatest joys came
from the expansion of their family with two children, Jeffrey Dean Cowl and Donna Lyn Rosman.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Jeffrey Dean Cowl and his wife, Marianne Ludka Cowl; her
daughter, Donna Lyn Rosman and her husband, Aaron Murphy; her grandchildren, Mitchell
Cowl and his wife, Jasmine Norwood Cowl, Lucas Cowl and his wife, Amie Duff Cowl,

Mackenzie Rosman and Chandler Rosman, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Michael,
Gabriel, Ilana, Joshua, Adelaide, Emmett, and Ophelia.
Marilyn found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud
grandmother, and treasured great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, French toast and
unwavering love created a legacy that will continue through the generations she so deeply
cherished. Her home was a place of love and welcome, and she will be remembered for her
gentle spirit, generous heart, and the care she gave to those around her.
Though her passing leaves a profound void, Marilyn love, wisdom, whimsy, and enduring
example will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
