Matthew Dean Matassini, known affectionately to friends and family as Matt, passed away at the age of 51 on December 10, 2023, in Ocala, Florida. Born on January 2, 1972, in Tampa, Florida, Matt's exuberant spirit and generous heart touched many lives throughout his journey.

Matt is survived by his loving children, Kaitlyn, Lucas, and Hunter Matassini, who were the pride and joy of his life. His mother, Gail Forrester Bianco, sisters Teresa and Patricia Matassini, his nephew Pat Matassini, who was like a brother to him, and mother-in-law Kathi Hardin will remember Matt as a beacon of love and strength in their family. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Janis Matassini, his father Pasquale Matassini, sister Sandra Matassini, and brothers Nicholas and Leo Matassini. His departure leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

Matt's passion for life was evident in his many interests. He had an insatiable love for reading the newspaper and staying informed. Matt's love for the outdoors led him to the beach often, where he found solace and joy in the rhythm of the waves and the vast horizon. Whether on the water or near it, he was happiest surrounded by nature's beauty.

An animal lover at heart, Matt's compassion extended to all creatures great and small. His kind demeanor made him a friend to animals everywhere. Matt's big heart was not reserved for humans and animals alone; his generosity of spirit extended into all areas of his life.
