Michelle Marie Tonn Carney Ramos

August 15, 1963 – January 8, 2025

 

Michelle Marie Tonn Carney Ramos, beloved mother, Momo, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and

friend, received her heavenly reward and gained angel’s wings on January 8, 2025, in Ocala,

Florida. She was 61 years old.

Michelle was born on August 15, 1963, in Macomb County, Michigan. In 1981, she graduated

from East Detroit High School in Eastpointe, Michigan. She dedicated her professional life to

roles as a legal secretary and administrative assistant, where her meticulous attention to detail

and commitment to excellence shone through. Michelle was a valuable member of all of the

teams she worked with and made many friends throughout her career.

Michelle found great joy in simple pleasures, from watching movies and her favorite shows to

listening and singing along to her favorite music, diving into a good book to playing online

games. Her greatest passion, however, was her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren.

She was an incredibly devoted mother who loved her children fiercely. Her pride for them was

evident, always.

She was a faithful child of Christ. Michelle was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Church

and served as Sunday school teacher at different times in her life, nurturing the spiritual growth

of young hearts. Her belief and faith in God was strong and resolute.

Michelle is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Ramos, and her loving children, Megan

Ashwill (Austin) and Matthew Carney (Rebekkah). She was the cherished Momo to her

grandchildren, Everett (7) and Ryann (5) Carney, and Theodore (2) and Winifred Ashwill (9

months). She is also survived by her siblings whom she lovingly teased and nicknamed, Donald

Tonn aka “Geezer” (Michelle), Scott Tonn aka “Scooter” (Madoka), and Leanne Reilly aka

“Beanie” (Vincent), and her niece and nephews: Robert, Jeremy, and Dustin Tonn, and Andrew

and Marion Reilly. She joins her beloved parents, Yvonne and Donald Tonn, in eternal rest.

Michelle will be cremated, and there are no memorial services planned at this time. In lieu of

flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Empath Hospice of Marion County, The

E.W. & Lucille Cates House, 9505 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL 34481. They cared for Michelle and

her family in her final days with immense compassion and grace.

Michelle was a proud servant of God, a loving and devoted family member, and a loyal and

faithful friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, tomfoolery, and gentle uplifting

nature. Her legacy will live on in her beautiful children and grandchildren, who will carry forward her love and light.
