Monique Mitchell-Carson, known lovingly to many as "Money Mo", passed away on July 31, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 51.

Born on July 12, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York, Monique carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. She was a woman of strength, honesty, and unmistakable presence, and she made an impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Monique lived with a clear sense of self and a fearless way of speaking her mind. She was direct, strong-willed, and never one to allow anyone to take advantage of her. Those who knew her best appreciated her candor, her loyalty, and the way she stood firmly in her truth.

Monique was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, and family member whose love for her children was at the center of her life. She is survived her children, Asia Carson, Chyna Carson, and Parrish Mitchell; her husband Michael Carson, her Auntie Kenya Sykes; her Auntie Doreen Cousin; and her Uncle Jamal Williams. She was deeply connected to her family and valued the bonds that held them together. Her children were not only the joy of her life, but also her closest companions and best friends. She shared a special closeness with them that was built on love, laughter, honesty, and mutual respect.

Monique was known for her compassionate heart and her quick wit. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke around, often bringing laughter into the lives of those around her. Her family and friends remember her as someone who could lighten a room with her personality and keep a conversation lively with her sharp observations and playful spirit. She had a way of making people feel seen and heard, while also reminding them that she would always tell the truth as she saw it.

One of Monique’s favorite pastimes was playing Monopoly Go, and she especially enjoyed playing video games with her children. She was competitive and loved the challenge of a good game, always bringing energy and determination to every match. These moments spent with her children were among her most cherished, and they reflected the joy she found in everyday time shared with the people she loved most. Whether she was competing in a game or sharing a laugh, Monique brought her full self to the moment.

Monique will be remembered for her loving nature, her fierce loyalty, and the strength she carried throughout her life. She was compassionate in ways that mattered deeply, and she had a gift for caring for others while still remaining true to herself. Her family and friends will forever hold close the memories of her laughter, her honesty, and her unmistakable presence.
