Nancy Jean Burnham

Nancy Jean Burnham, passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 61, surrounded by her loving family in Ocala, Florida. Born on October 15, 1962, in Ithaca, New York, Nancy was a beacon of light and joy throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met with her kind and gentle spirit.

Nancy's life was one marked by love, dedication, and joy. She shared an enduring love with her husband of 39 years, Kenneth Burnham, a partnership that was a testament to mutual respect and affection. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Danielle Welge, married to Jacob, and Alison Burnham, who brought immense happiness to Nancy's life. Her joy was further multiplied with the arrival of her grandson, Jackson Scott Welge, who was the apple of her eye.  

A sister to Richard Shane, with his wife Debi, and Leslie Kehoe, with her husband James, Nancy was a cherished sibling and confidante. Her nieces, nephews, and extended family members felt the warmth of her love and the generosity of her spirit in every interaction. Nancy's friends, too numerous to count, were an extension of her family, drawn close by her patient, loving, and generous nature.

Nancy's passions were as diverse as they were fulfilling. An avid sports enthusiast, she enjoyed playing tennis, pickleball, and golf, relishing both the competitive spirit and the camaraderie of the games. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her frequent travels to National Parks, where she marveled at the beauty of the natural world. An insatiable reader, Nancy found solace and adventure within the pages of books, a hobby that was only enhanced by the serenity of her walks, often in the company of her beloved family.

Above all, Nancy cherished her role as a grandmother. The time spent with her grandson was precious, filled with laughter, learning, and love. Her gentle soul and patient demeanor made her a natural at nurturing and her legacy as a grandmother is etched in the memories of joyful days spent together.

Nancy's life was a testament to the power of kindness. Her innate ability to listen, to empathize, and to offer support was a comfort to many. She navigated life's challenges with grace and emerged with a smile that could light up any room. Her presence was a gift, and though she has left this earthly realm, the essence of who she was will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

As Nancy's family and friends come together to celebrate her life, they will share stories, laughter, and tears, honoring a woman who was truly one of a kind. Nancy Jean Burnham's legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the countless lives she touched with her boundless love and generosity.
