Nathan White Sherman Obituary

Nathan "Nate" White Sherman, aged 63, passed away peacefully from complications from glioblastoma on May 20, 2025, in Ocala, Florida, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 4, 1961, in Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Nate was a man of great intellect, warmth, and charisma, whose presence was a blessing to all who knew him.

Nate's early life in Kentucky set the stage for a lifetime of curiosity and achievement. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Clemson University. His academic prowess translated into a stellar career, where he made significant contributions to the chemical manufacturing industry. Nate's innovative work ethic and collaborative spirit were known throughout his various roles and companies, where he played an integral role in advancing the field.

Beyond his professional life, Nate was a man of many passions. In his youth he was a formidable competitive swimmer. He had an adventurous spirit, often found hiking and swimming in the great outdoors. His love for travel took him to many beautiful places, creating a tapestry of memories with his family and friends. Nate loved classic rock and Looney Tunes. He was also an avid bowler and disc golf enthusiast, always eager to share his hobbies with others. He was a man of deep Christian faith. His gregarious and outgoing personality made him a beloved figure in his community.

Nate's love for life was matched by his love for his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Donna, with whom he built a beautiful life filled with laughter and devotion. He was a proud father to his daughter, Lisa Taylor Sherman, who inherited his zest for life and kind heart. Nate's family circle included his sisters, Dianne Persall (Steve) and Ellen Todd (Ed), as well as his father, Douglas Weinland Sherman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva White Sherman. He was a cherished uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, and his absence will be deeply felt by his extended family and a multitude of friends.

At home, Nate was a true do-it-yourself guy, always immersed in projects that showcased his creativity and hands-on skills. He had a stubborn streak when it came to asking for help, preferring to figure things out on his own—a testament to his independent nature. Yet, he was the first to offer assistance to anyone in need, a testament to his generous spirit.

A special mention must be made of Nate's fondness for cats, which brought additional joy and companionship to his life. His feline friends were more than pets; they were part of the family, sharing in the daily ebb and flow of the Sherman household.

Nate's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life enthusiastically lived. He touched the lives of many, not only through his professional achievements but also through his personal connections. His outgoing nature and willingness to help others left an indelible mark on the world, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we say goodbye to Nate, we celebrate a life rich in moments and filled with the genuine love of a man who was truly one of a kind. His spirit, characterized by determination and joy, will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. Nathan White Sherman was a remarkable man who will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
