Owen John DiLouie, aged 76, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, in Ocala, Florida. Born on November 9, 1947, in White Horse, New Jersey, Owen lived a life marked by dedication, craftsmanship, and a quiet but profound love for his family and friends.

Owen, known affectionately as a lovingly cantankerous and reserved man, was the beloved husband of Patti DiLouie, with whom he shared 42 joyous years of marriage. Their partnership was one of mutual respect and deep affection, a testament to the power of enduring love. Owen is also survived by his nephew, John DiLouie, and cousins Liz Panacek and Richard DiLouie, as well as a host of friends who were like family to him.

His early years were spent along the Jersey shore, where he worked as a lifeguard, watching over the safety of beachgoers with a vigilant eye. Owen's love for the water was evident from childhood; he owned his first boat at the tender age of 9, a passion that lasted throughout his life. The water was his second home, providing a sanctuary where he felt most at peace.

Owen's interests were as vast as the ocean he adored. An artist at heart, he loved painting, a hobby that allowed him to express his creativity and capture the beauty he saw in the world. His home was his canvas, where he applied his skills in carpentry, transforming and maintaining it with the same care and attention to detail that he brought to every aspect of his life.

He was the quintessential handyman, always ready with the right tool and the know-how to fix anything that needed repair. Owen had a reserved nature; he was the kind of man who preferred to show his love through actions rather than words. 

Owen John DiLouie's journey through life was like a ship that leaves a wake long after it has passed; though he is no longer with us, the ripples of his life's voyage will touch us forever.
