Richard Creason Sanders Jr., known as Rick to all who knew him, left this world on March 2, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on February 4, 1947, in the  town of Ocala, Florida, Rick was a lifelong resident of the place he loved and cherished. It is with a heavy heart that we announce his peaceful passing in the same town where he first entered the world, surrounded by the love of his family and the memories of a life well-lived.

Rick's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife of 52 years, Romaine, who was his true partner in every sense of the word. He was a devoted father to his son, JR Sanders, and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Kylie McTaggart and Maddie Frank. Rick also held a special place in his heart for his Godson, Michael Wallace and Goddaughter Lena Rothermel.  His loving brothers, Thomas Edward Sanders and his wife Deborah, and John Sanders with his wife Gina, along with his caring sister Rebecca Sanders Pranke and her husband Ray, will forever cherish the memories of their brother. Rick's infectious laughter and boundless love will also be missed by a host of family and friends, whose lives he touched in countless ways.

Rick's professional life was marked by his successful career a cable splicer for the telephone company. He had a passion  for storytelling and writing. His words not only captivated readers but also brought joy and reflection to all who perused the pages of his works. His creativity and wit were equally evident in his personal life, where he was known for his remarkable ability to tell jokes and weave tales that could enthrall any audience.

An avid outdoorsman, Rick relished the opportunity to be one with nature, whether it was hunting in the woods, fishing in tranquil waters, or simply enjoying the sun, sand, and waves at the beach. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his culinary skills. Rick took great pleasure in cooking, often delighting family and friends with his delicious creations.

Rick's zest for life was contagious. He and Romaine shared a love of travel, taking vacations that not only strengthened their bond but also created a tapestry of unforgettable memories. His sense of humor, combined with his loving nature, made every journey they embarked upon together one filled with laughter and happiness.

In honoring Rick's life, we reflect on the wisdom he imparted and the joy he brought into our lives. He was a beacon of light and love, and although he has departed from this earthly realm. Rick Sanders Jr. was a remarkable man, and his absence will be deeply felt by many. Yet, in our hearts and memories, he will forever remain an indelible part of our lives.
