Robert E. Church, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2023, in Ocala, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 10, 1944, in West Virginia, Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. His life was marked by his love for his family, his faith, and his passion for life.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his daughter, Pamela Church; his stepdaughter, Stacie Lilly (Brian); his grandchildren, Brandon and Gillian; his sister, Connie Eagle; his brothers, Daniel (Barbara), Jerry (Sally), Larry (Ruth), David, Lonnie (Joan), and Donnie (Laila). He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dora Church; his brothers, Billie and Kenny Church; and his brother-in-law, Steven Eagle.
Bob's early years were spent working in the mines, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the value of hard work. He later transitioned to a career as a tow truck driver, where he was able to help countless people in their time of need. Bob was known for his kind heart and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Throughout his life, Bob was an active member of his community and a faithful servant of his Lord. He was a regular attendee at Living Waters Church, where he was known for his warm smile and his unwavering faith. Bob's love for his Lord was evident in every aspect of his life, and he was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Bob had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought joy to both himself and those around him. He loved watching Westerns on TV and could often be found with a plate of biscuits and gravy in front of him, enjoying his favorite meal. Bob also had a green thumb and could often be found working in his yard, tending to his plants and flowers.
A true jack of all trades, Bob was a skilled tinkerer who could fix just about anything. His family and friends often relied on his expertise to help them with various projects, and he was always more than happy to lend a hand. Bob also enjoyed the freedom of the open road and could often be seen riding his motorcycle, exploring the beautiful countryside.
Above all else, Bob was a loving and devoted family man who adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with his family and was a constant source of love, support, and encouragement. Bob's love extended beyond his immediate family to his beloved cat, Prissy, who was always by his side.
Bob will be remembered for his loving nature, his kind heart, and his wonderful sense of humor. He had a unique ability to make those around him feel at ease and could always be counted on to bring a smile to their faces. Bob's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and perseverance, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
As we say our final goodbyes to Bob, we are reminded of the many ways he touched our lives and the lives of those around him. Rest in peace, Bob, and thank you for the love, laughter, and joy you brought to our lives.
