Robert “Bob” Shebaugh of Citra, FL, formerly of Madison Township, PA, discarded his
disease-ridden body for a one-way trip to the stars in a drug-fueled rocket ship on June 21,
2026. He was 77 years young.
Born on November 28, 1948, to Steven and Hannah Shebaugh in Scranton, PA, Bob attended
Scranton Technical High School before enlisting in the US Navy and serving aboard the USS
Little Rock, which sailed the Mediterranean Sea. He also allegedly patronized Italian brothels
and smuggled Turkish hash inside his acoustic guitar (Mom’s words, not ours).
After his service, Bob proudly worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot for 35 years, retiring as an
electronics equipment inspection supervisor in 2003.
Bob eventually relocated to a sunny lakeside retreat in Citra, Florida, where he recklessly spent
his children’s inheritance on vacation homes, RVs, Corvettes, motorcycles, and golf
memberships. Not a cent was wasted.
It was in Florida where Bob made countless friends, all of whom were targets for his world-class
heckling. In return, he earned the nickname “Buffet Bob” for his aggressive efforts to shrink the
profit margin of many local buffet restaurants. His quote preceded every visit, “There’s a long list
of things I’m gonna die from. Starvation ain’t making the list.”
After his first cancer diagnosis, Bob developed an intense love affair with medical marijuana,
despite punishing his children for using it earlier in life. He made Cheech & Chong look like
Buddhist monks.
In what was surely the final display of his twisted sense of humor, Bob decided to pass away on
Father’s Day morning, leaving his grieving children scrambling for gift receipts.
Among many things, Bob will be remembered for facing his terminal illness with unbelievable
optimism and positivity. Even during his final days in hospice, Bob was still somehow the
happiest person in the room. May we all face life’s challenges with a smile, just like he did.

including Dr. Patel, Dr. Carrascosa, and especially Jodie. They would also like to thank the staff
at E.W. Lucille Cates Hospice House for their warmth, compassion, and for getting Bob even
higher than he normally was.
Bob is survived by his three children: Stephanie, Madison Twp, PA; Erin (John Aaron), Raleigh,
NC; and Steven, Citra, FL; His seven grandchildren: Robert, Makayla, Mariah, Alexis, Ava,
Evlyn Mae, and Noah Ben; Two sisters, Peggy (Joe) and Rita (Paul), both of Scranton, PA;
Nieces Eva and Desira.
