Robert Edward Werkheiser Obituary
Robert Edward Werkheiser, known affectionately as Bob to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, in Ocala, Florida. Born on December 30, 1939, in the charming town of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Bob was a man of warmth, wit, and a remarkable eye for the hidden treasures of life.
Bob was the cherished son of the late Stewart and Martha (Dehaven) Werkheiser. His life was enriched by the love and companionship of his sister, Berneda Werkheiser Frable and her husband Vernon, his brother Glenn Werkheiser and Mona Hummel, as well as a host of adoring nieces and nephews who will miss his guidance and gentle humor. Bob was preceded in death by his brother Floyd Werkheiser and his sister Lois Werkheiser Tucker, along with her husband Harlan Tucker. Each family member played a significant role in his life, contributing to the tapestry of memories they will hold dear.
Bob's zest for life was evident in his passion for cruising the open seas, where the horizon held the promise of new adventures and discoveries. He found joy in the simple pleasure of yard saling and exploring thrift stores, where his discerning eye often uncovered valuable jewelry and crystal. These finds were not merely possessions but symbols of the beauty and history he so appreciated.
Bob's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. The visits from his relatives in Pennsylvania were occasions of pure delight, filled with laughter and shared stories. He treasured these moments just as he did the friendships he cultivated in Florida, where he was known for his generosity of spirit and his ability to make everyone around him feel at home.As he planned his return to his roots in the Poconos, Bob looked forward to being surrounded by the familiar landscapes of his youth and the family who grounded him. His love for his hometown was a testament to his appreciation for community and heritage, values that he carried with him throughout his life.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and an appreciation for the hidden gems in life. His absence will be deeply felt by those who had the privilege of knowing him, but the stories of his adventures, kindness, and the laughter he inspired will continue to resonate with all who loved him. In his passing, Robert Edward Werkheiser leaves behind a world that was undoubtedly brighter for his presence. As we bid farewell to Bob, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of joy, discovery, and the enduring love of family and friends. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his remarkable journey.
