Rosemary Ann Rockwell, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. Born on June 10, 1937, in New London, Connecticut, Rosemary's zest for life and her passion for music touched everyone she met throughout her memorable journey of 86 years.

Rosemary's early years were filled with the love and guidance of her parents, Leo and Frieda DiDonato. Alongside her brother, Leon DiDonato, she grew up in a home where laughter and music were the heartbeats of their existence. She met and married the love of her life James Rockwell and lived a wonderful, love filled life until he passed. Though her husband, parents and brother preceded her in death, the joy and resilience they instilled in her lived on as a testament to their spirit. A virtuoso in her own right, Rosemary's musical abilities were nothing short of extraordinary. Her talent spanned across a wide array of instruments, including the piano, keyboard, accordion, trombone, and French horn. Her music was her voice, and with it, she composed a life rich in harmony and melody.

Rosemary's love for music was also reflected in her impressive vinyl collection, which ranged from the energetic beats of Polka and Rock-n-Roll to the soulful twangs of Country. Beyond her musical endeavors, Rosemary was an avid sports enthusiast. Her younger years saw her actively participating in softball, where she showcased her competitive yet fair play. Her loyalty as a fan was unparalleled, especially when it came to rooting for her beloved New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. The thrill of the game was a source of great excitement for her, and she cherished every moment of play, whether on the field or as a spectator.

Rosemary's adventurous spirit led her to love archery and fishing, hobbies that reflected her appreciation for precision and patience. Travel was another passion, and she often set off with her daughter Cathleen to discover new and exciting vacation spots. Cape Cod, Vermont, and Maine held special places in her heart, as they were her favorite destinations to visit, where she created lasting memories.

Before making her home in Florida, Rosemary lived in Massachusetts, where she became a beloved figure in her community. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she was known for being a straight-to-the-point person. Her candidness, paired with her warmth, earned her the affectionate nickname "Mama Rose" by many who knew her. Her skills in the kitchen were legendary, and her phenomenal Italian cooking brought comfort and joy to all who had the pleasure of tasting her dishes.

Rosemary's legacy is carried on by her devoted daughter, Cathleen Rockwell, and a host of friends and family who were blessed to have been part of her life. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit remains a beacon of light for those she loved. She was preceded in death by her loving husband James Rockwell.

Rosemary's life story is one of music, laughter, love, and adventure. She lived with an open heart and a generosity of spirit that will forever be remembered.
