Roxann Bissonette O'Hara Obituary

Roxann Bissonette O'Hara, known lovingly as Roxann, passed away on September 12, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 67. She was born on March 31, 1959, in Browns Mills, New Jersey, and lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and a deep love for her family and faith.

Roxann was a woman who gave generously of herself to others. She was a people person in the truest sense, someone who could make others feel welcome, seen, and cared for. Her compassionate spirit touched many lives, and she was known for the way she encouraged, mentored, and helped guide countless young people with patience and understanding. She had a gift for listening, offering comfort, and sharing wisdom in a way that made others feel stronger and more hopeful.

Above all else, Roxann cherished her family. She was the beloved wife of John for 42 years, and their marriage was a lasting example of love, partnership, and commitment. Together, they built a family that was the center of her world. She was a proud mother to Steven Kennedy, Scott Kennedy and his wife Alesha, Elizabeth Ellis and her husband Jeremy, and Katherine Scott. She treasured each of her children and took great pride in the lives they built. Roxann was also blessed with 14 grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. She embraced her role as a full-time Nana with joy and devotion, caring for her grandchildren with tenderness, energy, and unwavering love. Being a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she wore that title with pride.

Roxann found happiness in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved the beach, especially the peaceful beauty of sunsets and sunrises over the water. Those quiet moments reflected the calm and grateful heart she carried throughout her life. She appreciated the wonder of God’s creation and often found comfort and renewal in the natural beauty around her. Her love for the beach was more than a pastime. It was a reflection of her spirit, which was warm, peaceful, and full of appreciation for the blessings of each day.

Her faith was an important part of who she was. Roxann loved the Lord and was never shy about sharing her testimony with others. She lived her faith openly and sincerely, and her words and actions reflected her trust in God. She was a source of encouragement to many because she spoke from the heart and lived with conviction. Her belief in the Lord gave her strength, and she used that strength to uplift others throughout her life.

Roxann is survived by her loving husband, John; her children, Steven Kennedy, Scott Kennedy and his wife Alesha, Elizabeth Ellis and her husband Jeremy, and Katherine O'Hara; her 14 grandchildren; her sister, Trinda Cruz; and her aunt, Lorri Losey. She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and the many people whose lives were made better by her kindness, compassion, and steady presence.

Those who knew Roxann will remember her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was proud of the life she built and the family she loved so dearly. Her legacy is one of faith, love, generosity, and service to others. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her caring heart, her ability to mentor and encourage, and the deep devotion she showed to the people in her life.

Though her passing leaves a profound emptiness, Roxann’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her life was a beautiful testimony to the power of love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
