Sandra Kay Giles Obituary

Sandra Kay Giles, known affectionately as Sandra to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida. She was born on February 21, 1960, in Fort Myers, Florida, and throughout her 65 years, she cultivated a life full of joy, passion, and love that touched everyone she knew.

Sandra's exuberant personality was a beacon of light to those around her. She was a woman of many interests, finding pleasure in the simplicity of shore fishing, where she would spend hours enjoying the tranquility of nature. Her love for the thrill of a good find made her a regular at local flea markets, and she could often be found amidst the lively chatter of the Bingo halls, her laughter ringing through the crowd. Sandra's green thumb was evident in her beautifully tended plants, which flourished under her care just like the people in her life.

Not one to shy away from the dance floor, Sandra's love for dancing was infectious, and she could out-twirl even the best of them with her sassy moves. Her dog, Taco, was more than a pet; he was her fur baby and loyal companion, sharing in her laid-back approach to life. Sandra was known for her candidness, a woman who told it like it was, yet always with a kindness that softened the truth.

Above all, Sandra cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Pattie, Harold and his wife Amanda, and April and her husband Ryan. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jordan and his wife Sierra, Veronica and her husband Jacob, Kaydance, Savannah, Julia, and Jesse, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kaysen, Everleigh, Kayden, Catherine, and Noah. Sandra's spirit is also carried on by her devoted brother Marty, her sisters Nancy and Cathy, her special friend John, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Sandra's love for sweet tea was symbolic of her Southern charm and her ability to savor the sweet moments in life. Her home was a hub of family gatherings, where stories were shared, and memories were made, often over a glass of her famous iced tea. Her presence was a comfort, and her guidance was a given, as she effortlessly became a cornerstone in the lives of her family.

As we bid farewell to Sandra Kay Giles, we celebrate a life lived with zest, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her legacy of love, strength, and vivacity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Sandra's journey through life was a testament to the beauty of embracing the simple things and the power of speaking from the heart. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for her loved ones.
