Sandra "Sandy" Lou Lawson passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Ocala, FL. Born on October 7, 1941, in Shelbyville, IN, Sandy left a positive impact on everyone she met during her 83 years of life.

Sandy graduated cum laude from Shelbyville High School and carried the same level of excellence into her professional life, performing secretarial work in healthcare settings. Sandy married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, O. Ray Lawson. They navigated life together for 52 beautiful years, until his passing in 2012. Their family grew to include their son Danny Lawson and daughter Tamara L. Lawson. Sandy was also preceded in death by their eldest daughter, Deborah L. Lawson. Her legacy also continues through her six grandchildren - Rusty and Scott Bryant, and Melissa Bryant Stoll; Daniel R. Lawson; Samantha L. and Katie E. Cheuvront - and her four greatgrandchildren - Jakob, Adalae, Mila, and Lincoln. Sandy's brother, Bob Pittman, also remains to honor her memory. Her parents, Howard and Elva Pittman, and brother, Bill Pittman, preceded her in death.

Sandy enjoyed many hobbies. She followed sports - particularly basketball and NASCAR. A voracious reader, she continued to enjoy books up to the day of her death. She had an enduring love of movies and television. She could frequently be found enjoying some combination of all of these, accompanied by her beloved chihuahuas, Ginger and Molly.

Above all, Sandy's greatest joy was her family and friends. Those who had the privilege of knowing Sandy will remember her generous heart, infectious laugh, and quick wit. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be honored as a blessing to all who knew her.
