Sheila Laverne Vereen Obituary

Sheila Laverne Vereen, known affectionately as Sheila to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Ocala, Florida. Born on August 21, 1965, in Bowling Green, Florida, Sheila's zest for life and her generous spirit were evident from an early age. Her radiant smile and warm heart left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sheila's life was marked by her profound love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her devoted son, Bryan Vereen, who was the light of her life. Sheila was a beloved daughter of Levone Vereen Sr and sister to Sharetha Vereen, Dallas Earl Butler, Tyrone Edward Butler, Levone Vereen Jr., Clifford Vereen, Keith Vereen, and Vonyetta Vereen. Her role as a grandmother was one she embraced with immense joy and pride, doting on her grandchildren Neki, Bryan Jr., Bryson, B'onni, Bryon, Bralon, and Braydn Vereen. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in their accomplishments and milestones.

Sheila's siblings will remember her as a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support. Her nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends mourn the loss of a woman whose caring nature and readiness to help others knew no bounds. Sheila's presence in their lives was a gift, and her memory will continue to inspire them.

A woman of many passions, Sheila found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid music lover, often found humming along to her favorite tunes. Movies were another source of enjoyment, offering her the chance to escape into different worlds and experiences. Above all, spending time with her grandchildren was Sheila's favorite pastime. The love she shared with them was unconditional and pure, and the moments they spent together will be treasured forever.

Sheila's spunky personality was matched only by her caring and giving nature. She approached life with a sense of humor and a willingness to extend a helping hand to those in need. Her actions spoke volumes about her character and the values she held dear. Sheila's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

As we bid farewell to Sheila Laverne Vereen, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and selfless giving. Her journey on this earth was a testament to the impact one person can have on so many. Sheila's memory will be honored not only in the stories shared by those who loved her but also in the way they choose to live their lives—embracing each day with the same kindness and generosity that she exemplified.
