Susan Saizan Hutcheson Obituary

Susan "Su” Saizan Hutcheson, a beacon of joy and love, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, in Crystal River, Florida. Born on September 4, 1945, in Marion, Michigan, Su’s life was a vivid tapestry of dedication, laughter, and an unwavering spirit of kindness that touched everyone she knew. Su’s journey began as the cherished daughter of Herman and Sarah Saizan  in Marion,Michigan ,where she laid the roots of a life lived fully and with an open heart. She carried the essence of her upbringing with her as she moved through the world, spreading warmth and exuberance in every encounter. Her laughter was infectious, her counsel wise, and her presence a comfort to all.

A devoted partner in life and love, Su is survived by her husband of 28 years, Buzz, who found in her not just a wife but a true companion. Together, they built a life rich in shared moments and mutual respect. Su’s legacy is also lovingly carried forward by her children, April Sunshine Gallant, Orion Gerold Gallant, and Austin Clayton Gallant; her stepchildren, Natalie Ferrer and Joseph Hutcheson; and her adored grandchildren, Hannah Grace Gallant, Abigail Marie Gallant, Natalie Denise Ferrer, and Michael Anthony Ferrer. Su’s siblings, Gladys Kinney, Tommy Saizan, and Jimmy Saizan, will hold her memory dear, as they continue to walk the paths that were once lit by her vibrancy. She now joins her sister, Janet Williams, in peaceful rest, leaving behind a family fortified by her love and spirit.

Professionally, Su dedicated many years of her life as a special needs teacher's aide, a role that allowed her to extend her nurturing soul to countless children. She was a guiding light in the classroom, offering patience and support to those who needed it most. Her impact on her students was profound and will be remembered as a testament to her compassionate nature.
Su’s interests were as rich and varied as her personality.

She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, each moment with them more precious than the last. Her favorite place was the beach, where she found serenity in the rhythm of the waves and joy in the endless horizon. An avid fisher, Su relished the calm of the early morning on the water, just as the world was waking up. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she tended to her plants with the same care and attention she gave to her loved ones. With a hippie spirit that danced through life's ups and downs,

Su’s personality was indeed larger than life. Her authenticity and free-spirited nature drew people to her, and she welcomed them with open arms. She was a true original, unafraid to be herself, and in doing so, she inspired others to embrace their own unique paths. As we bid farewell to Su, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. Her memory will be carried on the ocean breeze, felt in the warmth of the sun on our faces, and seen in the blooms of a well-tended garden. Su’s spirit, indomitable and kind, will continue to guide us, just as the North Star guides sailors home. Susan Saizan Hutcheson, you will be deeply missed, but your light will never fade. Rest in peace, dear Su knowing you have left the world a better place for your having been here.
