Sybil Reid, age 86, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, August

She was born on September 23, 1939, in Baxter Mountain in the Caribbean, and carried
the warmth, strength, and spirit of her island roots throughout her life. Sybil lived with
quiet dignity and unwavering faith, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was known for her
loving presence, strong faith, wise counsel, warm meals, and joyful laughter. She
nurtured many with her kindness, her hands, and her prayers.
Sybil was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Reid, with whom she
shared many cherished years of marriage and life.
She is survived by her devoted children: Carleen, Michelle, and Philip; and her treasured
grandchildren: Aaron, Malcolm, Mikhale, Anthony, and Emily. She also leaves behind her
loving sisters, Jean and Norma; her cherished nieces, Grace and Monique; and her dear
nephews, Andrew, Steve, David, and Michael, NextGen’s, Tanisha, Sadikee, Celine,
Isaiah, Morgyn, Leighton, Marie, and Elijah.

In lieu of cut flowers, the family kindly requests that live plants be given in her honor,
reflecting Sybil’s love for lasting beauty and the joy of growing things.
Sybil’s legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the lives she touched. She will be
deeply missed, yet her presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who called her
wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:22–23 (NKJV)
