Talmadge Fulford, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023, in Ocala, Florida. Born on November 10, 1945, in Tampa, Florida, Talmadge's life was defined by devotion to his family, service to his community, and a passion for the simple pleasures in life.

Talmadge is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda S. Fulford, and their children: Edie Fulford; Jenny Fulford; Windy Fulford Smith and her husband Julian Smith III; Joey Czech; and Jordan Fulford and his wife Lynette. He was a proud grandfather to Aaryn Curtis, Ashlyn Curtis, Talya Smith, Patricia Howard, Allie Czech, Zoey Czech, Julian Smith IV, and a doting great-grandfather to Gia Fulford, Autumn Fulford, Jordan Fulford Jr., and Jackson Fulford. His legacy of love and laughter will live on through them.

He is also survived by his siblings: Carolyn Burnham, Carroll Fulford and his wife Debbie, Dorothy Willis and her husband Gerald, Celete Willis and her husband Neal, and Tillman Fulford and his wife Tauna. His niece, Karla Harrell, and her husband Mac, as well as many other nieces and nephews, will fondly remember their time with Uncle Talmadge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Carrie Fulford, and his brother, David Fulford.

For over three decades, Talmadge dedicated his career as a firefighter with the Forestry Division. His bravery and commitment to protecting both people and nature were commendable. His colleagues knew him as a man who could be relied upon in any situation, a trait that extended well into his personal life.

Talmadge's interests were a reflection of his zest for life and community spirit. He played and coached softball on a league for many years, bringing joy and competitive spirit to the field. An avid fisherman, he found serenity and joy in the quiet moments by the water. But perhaps his greatest joy was found in the kitchen, where he loved to cook, sharing his culinary creations with family and friends.

Volunteering at his home church, Living Waters, was another way Talmadge gave back, consistently showing his dependability and willingness to help wherever needed. His ability to master everything he did was not only a testament to his skill but also to his determination to make a positive impact on the world around him.

Talmadge's life was a tapestry of meaningful relationships and selfless actions. His story is one of unwavering love for his family, steadfast dedication to his community, and an enduring spirit of adventure and fun. As we remember Talmadge, we do so with gratitude for the time we had with him and the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to our faces.

Talmadge's life will be celebrated in a manner that befits the incredible man he was, surrounded by the family and friends whose lives he touched so deeply.
