Travis Loyal Trammell Obituary

Travis Loyal Trammell, affectionately known as "Swampman" by his close friends, passed away on February 5, 2024, in Leesburg, Florida, leaving a legacy of kindness and laughter in his wake. Born in Bartow, Florida, Travis's jovial spirit and generous nature were evident from a young age and remained a constant throughout his life.

Travis was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love for painting ceramics was matched only by the happiness he found with a fishing pole in hand, surrounded by the serene beauty of nature. Those who knew Travis were familiar with his lively sense of humor; he was a true jokester at heart, always ready with a quip or a playful story to lighten the mood and bring smiles to the faces of those around him.

His outgoing personality meant that Travis never met a stranger, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back without a second thought, always willing to help others in any way he could. This selflessness and warmth were the hallmarks of his character, making him a beloved figure in his community.

Travis is survived by a loving family who cherished him deeply. His sister, Tammy Walters-Sontag (Ray), will hold onto the memories of her brother's unwavering support and affection. His son, Cody Trammell, will continue to carry forward Travis's legacy of kindness and humor. Travis also leaves behind six nieces and nephews, along with 14 great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his playful spirit and generous heart.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Byron and Hazel Trammell, and his brother, Byron Trammell Jr. They were undoubtedly there to welcome Travis with open arms, as he joined them in eternal rest.

Throughout his life, Travis embodied the very essence of kindness. His actions, his laughter, and his willingness to extend a hand to anyone in need are the threads that wove the fabric of his admirable character. Those who had the privilege of knowing Travis will remember him not only for the joy he brought into their lives but also for the example he set on how to live with an open heart.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who were a part of Travis's life. Your friendship, love, and laughter were the gifts that he treasured most. As we gather to honor his memory, let us remember the laughter, the fish tales, and the countless acts of kindness that defined Travis's extraordinary life.
