Zeba Jean Dunn, known affectionately as Jean, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024, at the age of 90 in Ocala, Florida. Born on February 7, 1933, in Miami, Florida, Jean's life was a beautiful melody composed of love, faith, and music that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Jean's youth was steeped in the sunny vibrancy of Miami, where her passion for music was evident from an early age. Her dedication to the arts led her to a fulfilling career as a public music educator, inspiring countless students to pursue their musical dreams. After her marriage and the birth of her children, Jean transitioned into the role of a homemaker, a position she embraced with the same fervor and love she had for teaching.

Jean's legacy is carried on through her beloved family. She is survived by her children, Thomas Glenn Dunn II and Ruth Renee Dunn. Her musical gift lives on through them, as both have earned degrees in music, no doubt influenced by their mother's enduring passion. Jean's joy was further multiplied by her grandchildren, Thomas Dunn III, James Dunn, and Joy Dunn, and her great-grandchildren, Julie Dunn and Tommy Dunn IV, who brought immeasurable happiness to her later years. She was preceded in death by her husband  Thomas Crockettt Dunn.

In addition to her love for music, Jean had a profound spiritual life. She was a devout Christian and found great fulfillment in teaching the Bible at home fellowship meetings. Her role as a revival organist was not merely a position but a calling, through which she spread her faith and uplifted many. Jean's gentle, soft-spoken nature was a comfort to those around her, and her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life.

Jean's influence as an educator extended beyond the classroom and into her home, where the harmonies of her teachings resonated with all who entered. Her children and grandchildren, following in her footsteps, are a testament to the powerful impact of her nurturing spirit and her dedication to instilling a love for music in the hearts of others.
